The National Multiple Sclerosis Society estimates that 400,000 people in the United States have been diagnosed with MS. Because MS is a chronic disease, people with this diagnosis will live with the disease for years. MS sufferer Margot Russell and Dr. Allen C. Bowling, a nationally known MS expert, team up to help readers: Recognize signs and symptoms; understand the types of MS; decide on treatment and find the right doctor; explore alternative therapies; take charge by creating a management plan; develop strength and avoid relapse; and more. Filled with tips for daily living (like staying cool) and the latest information on new treatments, this reassuring book offers more than medical advice. It gives readers with MS the strength, knowledge, and resources they need so they can live a full, active life!

Margot Russell (Mashpee, MA) was diagnosed with MS in 1998. She wrote and edited When the Road Turns: Inspirational Stories by and about People with MS and edited Life on Cripple Creek by Dean Kramer. Ms. Russell has worked as a news broadcaster, reporter, inspirational speaker, and foundation director.
Allen C. Bowling, M.D., Ph.D. (Englewood, CO), is the director of complementary and alternative medicine at the Rocky Mountain MS Center and is a clinical associate professor of neurology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Bowling has published numerous articles in clinical and basic science journals and is the author or coauthor of three books on MS. He has provided consultation or written publications for many MS and neurological organizations, including the MS International Federation, National MS Society, MS Association of America, MS Foundation, and American Academy of Neurology. He serves on the editorial board of Multiple Sclerosis
